Music Marketing 101: New Music: P360 Takeover Volume 2

Seems like EVERYDAY I have someone hitting me up on MySpace asking me to listen to their music or wanting to add me to their friends list so they can "network". NEWSFLASH - having 50 million friends on MySpace is NOT networking & having 50 million hits on MySpace does not mean anything if no one likes your music. The hits more than likely come from someone like myself who clicks on your page post to the message out of curiosity. Yanno, the same way John McCain had over 3.5 viewers watch his speech at the RNC - no one cared for him but tuned in out of curiosity.

I am going to be calling out those people who hit me up requesting me to check them out - not to be a "hater" but to give tips & suggestion. Just call me the Jose Vilson of Urban Music. What makes me feel I am anyone of importance to put my Stephen A hat on? Actually, I am a nobody, at least that’s the title I like to have. I do however manage a Marketing Company that has a recording studio on site & work with a lot of the Artist (known & unknown). Not to mention my massive industry connection - actually, I don't look at them as "connections" but more as friends. I have never requested assistance from them but yet always worked with them - which is something Industry heads are lacking these days; people always want the hook up. I am someone they all turn to first when needing a project done, which is why I am on the level I am on, which makes me someone who is relevant to share tips with others – got it?
